A Weekend In Paris

I recently enjoyed a weekend in Paris to celebrate my birthday! This was my fourth trip to Paris and my third time celebrating my special day in this beautiful city of lights. Despite the brevity of my stay, I managed to explore some of my favorite destinations during this delightful weekend excursion.

Day One In Paris

My first day in Paris may have been brief, but it was packed with unforgettable experiences. Touching down at CDG airport around 3 pm, I navigated through customs as quickly as possible and eagerly arrived to my hotel around 4:30 pm. After a quick check-in and refreshing shower, I wasted no time in immersing myself in the spectacular City of Lights.

My itinerary for Day One included visiting iconic landmarks such as the majestic Arc de Triomphe, followed by an early dinner at Cafe Marly within the illustrious Palais Du Louvre, and an exploration of the Louvre Museum. En route back to the hotel, I couldn’t resist capturing a breathtaking photo of the illuminated Eiffel Tower sparkling against the dark night sky. Before retiring for the night, I made a stop at a local market for some truffle potato chips and champagne (the most perfect way to wind down after a day of exploration)!

Day Two in Paris

On my “first” full day in Paris, I began with a delectable breakfast in bed at my hotel before embarking on an exploration of the city. My first destination was the vibrantly chic Rue Montorgueil. Renowned for its plethora of cafes, restaurants, and shops, Rue Montorgueil set the perfect tone for the day’s adventures. Continuing my journey, I ventured into the charming 3rd Arrondissement, where I immersed myself in the lively atmosphere of Marché des Enfants Rouge. Before leaving the bustling avenues of the 3rd Arr., I stopped by Caractere De Cochon to pick up a quick bite. With lunch secured, I leisurely strolled to the picture perfect Jardin de Luxembourg, savoring both the exquisite scenery and my meal. As the day drew to a close, I made my way to Pepites Wine Bar in Saint Germain des Pres, the perfect spot to unwind with a glass of pinot noir and reflect on the day’s experiences.

Day Three (Last Day in Paris)

My last day in Paris was truly unforgettable! Starting off with a delightful breakfast at The French Bastards in the 17th Arrondissement, I savored the finest croissant and a small coffee. Then, I strolled through the iconic Jardin des Tuileries in the 1st Arrondissement, immersing myself in its beauty. Next on my agenda was a visit to the renowned Musée Yves Saint Laurent, where I was mesmerized by the exquisite haute couture collections. (Stay tuned for more on this remarkable museum in a future post!) Following my museum visit, I explored Les Passages Couverts de Paris, in hopes of indulging in some shopping, (albeit most shops were closed being a Sunday). Nevertheless, I concluded my day with a visit to the BnF’s Richelieu site, conveniently located near Les Passages. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary, especially admiring the famous Oval Room.

Thank you for reading! Stay tuned for my next post where I share more about Musée Yves Saint Laurent.
