Let me tell you about the fantastic day I had in Santa Barbara last week with my friend Kim and her lovely family. This was my first visit ever to Santa Barbara and I was brimming with excitement to visit this beautiful city! Even though Santa Barbara is just a short drive from Los Angeles, I decided to take the Amtrak train to enjoy the scenic route.
The business class on the train was great – clean, comfy, and they even treated me to a free breakfast of croissant and coffee! As we cruised along, I couldn’t get enough of the beautiful ocean views and had a relaxing time reading.
After a quick two-hour ride, I finally arrived in Santa Barbara, where Kim greeted me warmly at the train station. We headed to her Airbnb, which was super cute and charming. And yes, I promise to share those iconic photos in my next post!
We spent the day chatting, snapping pictures, and having a blast. For lunch, we hit up Coast Village Road and stopped at Los Arroyos. I went for the Chile Relleno Wet Burrito, and Kim tried the Lobster Enchiladas – both were absolutely delicious!
The rest of the day was filled with exploring Santa Barbara’s sights with Kim and her family. And to top it all off, they surprised me back at the Airbnb with cake and wine for a belated birthday celebration. I was so touched, I couldn’t help but shed a few tears of happiness.
As the sun set on our incredible day, it was time for me to head back home. But Santa Barbara, you haven’t seen the last of me! Huge thanks to Kim for making it such a memorable and enjoyable day!
